Gomma Monitor is the revamped version of Gomma Reviews. A constantly updated section that publishes a selection of websites filtered by the Gomma Team and that are considered interesting for Gomma viewers. These websites are published with thumbnails and a rating option.

Gomma Directory is a database of websites.
The aim is to assemble a very extensive database of urls related to photography, visual arts and design and divide these categories by sections/ styles/ country.

90% of the websites submitted are accepted in the Directory.
We DO NOT publish websites:

Why has my website been removed from Gomma Directory or Gomma Monitor:
The main reason is copyright infringement.
If we found out that a website has copied without permission the contents of other websites, we will remove this website permanently from our database.

Why have you not included my site in Gomma Monitor or published my news:
Due to the high number of submissions we cannot guarantee the inclusion of all the websites or news we receive. We publish websites and news that we feel are interesting for our viewers. You can now broadcast your news instantly through the Open Broadcast.
If your site is not published please do not take it personally and do not insist with emails or frequent resubmissions.

Why don't you answer my emails?
It is practically impossible for us to reply to all the emails received.
It's very likely that your email has not been replied to if you are asking for something that is already answered in this FAQ section.

How long does it take to have my news or site reviewed?:
Open Broadcast News instantly!
News normally take 48 hours to be posted, however we might publish your news even after a few days. If you don't see your news posted within 7 days it means that it has not been chosen.
Gomma Monitor might take up to 7 days to be posted depending on the amount of submissions received. If you don't see your site published within 30 days it means your site has not been chosen.
Gomma Directory might take up to 4 weeks.
The database is updated daily.

No, unfortuantely we are unable to inform each individual website inclusion.

But who is Gomma?
We are a team of artists and media professionals driven by an unsurpassable passion for photography. We simply want to publish a photographic magazine that is entirely dedicated to the art of photography . A magazine that we would buy at the newsagent,
one which doesn't bore us with technical information or endless advertising.
Besides the magazine we have decided to design a website that focuses on contents and is about photography, visual arts and design.

Why did you do a website that is about visual arts and design while the magazine is only photographic?
Initially we thought that photographers wouldn't only be interested in photography and this is why we included sections about designers, illustrators, arts events ecc.
Afterwards we found out that a big percentage of our viewers and buyers were actually visual artists and media professionals, and this is why we decided to make the portal about visual arts and design together with photography.

You write that Gomma is a sixmonthly publication when it is not really:
Gomma Magazine is edited and printed without a fixed deadline. Our aim is to publish the magazine twice every year. Sometimes there are unaccountable events that can postpone the whole process.

The first issue published only film-based photography.
Will this be the same for the following issues?
No. Digital photography is very welcome.

What's the difference between Gomma News and Open Broadcast?
Gomma News are made ehm by us, and Open Broadcast are made by you, the Gomma Members. Generally Gomma News reports more on competitions, events, organizations, exhibitions and scholarships.

It's a section of Gomma Online from which you can download up-to-date Media Kits. It requires a username and a password and it publishes information directed to :
